Gardiner CL-X water fed pole

I been using a CL-x water fed pole recently, this is Gardiner's entry level pole and is a Carbon fibre/glass fibre composite it features the horizontal clamps which help the pole close down to a short length of about five feet and makes the pole easy to extend and close. For the price it is a fairly light and stiff pole, there are other poles they make which are manufactured in carbon fibre and are much lighter and stiffer but are considerable more expensive and would be worth the invest. For value for money for £180 for CL-X 27 is 10/10

Keeping the water pure

We have been using water fed poles for cleaning the windows of our clients for a while now and this requires the use of Pure water which we pass Tap or rain water through a DI unit
After a while the resin that Purify the water is no longer doing its job and needs replacing,The Blue tank is the DI unit and the bag contains the new resin, after removing the old resin I replace it with new resin (Tulsion 115) and add a glass of water before insert the riser (the long screw with the Hozelock connecters) and twist it in and screw back tight. All ready to make more Pure water ;)

Vancouver Window Cleaning Like A Professional

April 5, 2011 | Business, Marketing

To clean windows like a professional you will need the right tools, especially if your home has more than one story.

The right tools

You will need to first locate the right window cleaning tools including ladders or as the professionals do it a Tucker Pole (Tucker Pole is a water fed pole that can be extended to reach up to three stories. Next make sure to purchase or locate quality squeegee, applicator, scraper, window bucket, and microfiber wipe cloth. Your squeegee should be a 10″ to 16″ professional quality brass or stainless steel squeegee, depending on the size of windows you’ll be cleaning.

Window cleaning can be done at any time and anywhere, the optimal weather condition would be a cool, cloudy (but not rainy) day. This may be difficult in locations like Arizona. You never want to wash windows in direct sunlight or on a very hot window because they’ll dry out too fast and leave streaks. If this is the type of climate you have to work with you should consider spraying the window with cool water prior to cleaning and try to stay out of the direct sun light while cleaning your windows.

Once you have the tools and weather conditions, fill your window cleaning bucket with cool or lukewarm water (never hot) and add a small amount of dishwashing soap. Wipe away any cobwebs or debris on or around the window. Dip the squeegee into the bucket and run your hand across to get rid of any excess liquid. Wet the window and scrub. The window will begin to feel clean when it is done, as it will no longer have any rough patches. If you need to use a scraper to get rid of stubborn spots, be sure that the window is wet – never scrape a dry window.

Streak Free Window Cleaning

To ensure that you won’t leave any streaks when cleaning, try and maintain a dry rubber blade. Place this blade against the top of the window, and pull down smoothly, using your microfiber rag to dry your blade between each stroke. Repeat this process until the window is complete, being sure to overlap the dry edge of the squeegee with the dry portion of the window in order to prevent drips and streaks. To complete the window cleaning, you need to do one final stroke from left to right at the very bottom of the window. Use a dry microfiber cloth and run it around the edges of the window to soak up any remaining drips.

Your ability and speed will improve over time as you continue to develop the window washing technique that works best for you, other advanced techniques such as the swirl allow one step cleaning without having to stop and wipe your squeegee between strokes.

You now have a sparkling clean window!

In our next article we will discuss more about the Tucker or water fed pole method for window cleaning.

Weather

Weather looks to be getting into the double figures this week with those temperatures in Manchester reaching the mid teens.
We are cleaning windows in Chorlton for most of the week
With Our water fed pole we don't end up cleaning windows like Granny and Our pure water system washes all the dirt away.Using the Water fed pole on a house that hasn't been cleaned for a while we can guarantee an 80% clean with improved results after the second and third clean because we clean the frames as well as the glass this give a better overall result and the best thing is we don't charge extra for frames (like others do).uPVC frames benefit from being cleaned with Pure water as it has been notice that they are less prone to discolouring. And no unexpected heads  popping at the bedroom as we clean all windows from the safety of ground with our Water fed pole system.

Window cleaning City and Guilds

We are in the process of doing our City and Guilds in Window cleaning, you may be wondering is there such a thing, didn't think there was much to window cleaning? Well with over 7 deaths last year due to window cleaners falling and a lot more falling off Ladders while cleaning domestic properties and the legal requirements that many are just not aware of.
Is your window cleaner Insured?
Does he/she have any formal training?
What would happen if they were to have an accident on your property?
What would happen if they injured someone on your property?
Are they affiliated with any trade bodies?
Can you check their background?
But I hear you say "its just window cleaning,if they have an accident its their own thought"
wrong the Law states you could be liable for the actions of anyone undertaking work on your property and it is your responsibility to make sure they go about it in a safe manner.
Questions about working at heights can be found here
At Clearly clean window cleaning we have reduced the use of ladders where we have found an alternative solution by 99% with the use of water fed pole because at the end of the day it is only cleaning windows and not worth risking your life or the lives of others

Rain water harvesting

We have moved closer to being more water efficient with the amount of water that flows off my roof into the gutters and down the drain into the sewer I have set up  a collection system so I can recycle this water and use it with my water fed pole system after it has been filtered it can be used to clean windows reducing our impact on the planet and utilizing the rain water that would other wise be wasted.

Water fed pole and using Fan jets

Have changed one of my brushes from pencil jets to Fan jets. The Fan jets spread the water like a spray instead of a jet of water hitting the water. It seems to soak the window quicker and lets you get on with the scrubbing the dirt off the window.Rinsing the window is easy as with a mono filament you can rinse with the brush still on the glass which helps when cleaning windows at height will your feet are still firmly on the ground. From around £10 a pair they have more than paid for themselves in the first hour of use.
