We are in the process of doing our City and Guilds in Window cleaning, you may be wondering is there such a thing, didn't think there was much to window cleaning? Well with over 7 deaths last year due to window cleaners falling and a lot more falling off Ladders while cleaning domestic properties and the legal requirements that many are just not aware of.
Is your window cleaner Insured?
Does he/she have any formal training?
What would happen if they were to have an accident on your property?
What would happen if they injured someone on your property?
Are they affiliated with any trade bodies?
Can you check their background?
But I hear you say "its just window cleaning,if they have an accident its their own thought"
wrong the Law states you could be liable for the actions of anyone undertaking work on your property and it is your responsibility to make sure they go about it in a safe manner.
Questions about working at heights can be found here
At Clearly clean window cleaning we have reduced the use of ladders where we have found an alternative solution by 99% with the use of water fed pole because at the end of the day it is only cleaning windows and not worth risking your life or the lives of others
